What are Resell Rights and How You Can Build a Profitable Business With Them

Resell rights products are a very effective way to establish a presence on the internet and build your business. You must be aware, however, of the various types of rights available to ensure that you do not violate the license offered by the originator of the product. Basic resell rights allow you to sell a product as-is, unedited. The original authors information cannot be removed from the product. Typically, you will be allowed to include your name on the sales page. This option can allow you the ability to keep the entire sales price for yourself, while providing a valuable product to your customers. Master resell rights allow you to not only sell the product, but also the rights to resell the product as well. If you are putting together a membership site, these are excellent products to include, as your members can come to you for products to redistribute. Private label rights typically allow you to rebrand, rename or rewrite the product as you see fit, providing you the option to recreate an existing product into a product of your own. Bear in mind that many marketers have access to the exact same products you do, so you want to change and rewrite the product enough to make it uniquely yours. If you simply slap our name on it and try to sell it, customers will become wise to this, and simply seek out the cheapest price they can find, which likely will not be yours. Historically, this has led to price wars between marketers, usually ending with some joker selling it for $1.00 and devaluing the product and the marketplace for all of us. Often times the originator of a product will require a minimum price point to prevent this. A few key points to keep in mind: 1. Review the reseller license that comes with the resell rights products you buy, and make sure that you comply with the restrictions and permissions laid out by the creator of the product. Many, for example, will allow you to rename the product and put your name as the author, but may not allow the information to be given away for free, or broken up into articles, etc. The point is - read the license and comply with it. 2. Read the product before you peddle it to your customers. This seems obvious, but you would be surprised at how many Internet marketers do not review the products they try to sell. A lot of the products on the market place are written by ghost writers, usually from other parts of the world, who at best know English as a second language. Often times the grammar, word usage and sentence structure are deplorable, or even incomprehensible. Obviously, you either want to totally avoid, or thoroughly rewrite these types of PLR products. Make sure that you have this option, of course (See #1 above). Resell rights provide an excellent opportunity for budding internet marketers to acquire products to sell as their own without having to take the time to research the subject, and develop a product. A huge benefit if you want to enter into a niche market where you see profit potential, but may not personally possess enough knowledge about it to create a viable product on your own.
